EDUCATOR. AUTHOR. ENTREPRENEUR.
M.A.G.I.C. in Motion : Multiple Avenues of Growth to Influence Change
I'm Fenesha, a former middle school math teacher in Chicago who went on to be the bestselling author of The Equity Expression: Six Entry Points for Nonnegotiable Academic Success.
I enjoy empowering people and challenging the status quo. I expanded the walls of my classroom to reach thousands of educators nationwide as an instructional coach and designer of professional development. A decade at NWEA further solidified my influence, where I collaborated with education giants like The Algebra Project and Khan Academy.
My personal health journey fueled a commitment to women's health advocacy and a deep understanding of cyclical wellbeing – a lifelong practice informing how I design my life. For over two decades, I’ve guided self-care and healing experiences for women. In 2015, I founded the Chicago chapter of Women Grow to share alternative healing methods for women and nurture an entrepreneurial ecosystem. It was such a joy to connect diverse entrepreneurs, who went on to run the $2 billion dollar Illinois cannabis market.
Drawing from a background spanning science of mind to spiritual practices, I guide people toward mindful living. My strength lies in a nuanced approach to change– meeting people where they are. Today, you can meet me at FEOM Expressions, a haven for soulful wellbeing, artistic expression, and community connection on Chicago’s southeast side.
Three Additional Facts: I've got a bachelor’s in mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s in instructional leadership from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I am a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., a leading international service organization founded by educators. I will always have an Akita companion by my side.
